Thirteenth Annual Recognition Reception, April 24th

TCF will celebrate outstanding scholars, leading community philanthropists, and extraordinary organizations at our thirteenth annual reception on April 24th at the Springhaven Club in Wallingford, PA.

As part of the ceremonies, our newest cohort of scholars — recipients of almost $100,000 in scholarship funding — will be recognized. We will also honor the philanthropic impact on our community of Joseph and Marianne Martin as the Extraordinary Philanthropists of the Year and the Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County as the TCF Extraordinary Organization of the Year. TCF will also present Dr. Edward Small with the Community Impact Award recognizing his many devoted hours of service, sacrifice, and commitment to Academy Park High School, particularly to the Rising Scholars Program.

Primary sponsors of this event include PNC Bank, Tycor Benefit Administrators, TD Bank, and International Raw Materials, Ltd.

Ridley Health Awareness Day/YMCA Healthy Kids Day

The annual Ridley Health Awareness and YMCA Healthy Kids Day Event, held at the Ridley High School campus on Saturday, April 5th, was a day to be remembered. Activities for all ages included free health screenings, free breakfast, character appearances, healthy food samples, and a performance by the Ridley Drama Group and Fireworks Dance Team. The 2014 event had over 70 information and interactive stations that helped us learn how to eat healthy, stay fit, and take care of our minds and bodies.

Health Awareness Day is the result of a wonderful collaboration between the Taylor Community Foundation (TCF), Ridley School District, Crozer Keystone Health System, the Ridley Township Board of Commissioners, and the Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County.

The event kicked off with a 5K run/walk sponsored by the Ridley Educational Foundation and the Y. Many runners took advantage of the free massages and free breakfast. Grace Park Elementary School was awarded the TCF 5K Fitness Challenge Trophy for having the greatest participation level of all the schools in the District.

We view this as an excellent opportunity to receive first-hand information about the services available in our local community that focus on healthy living and we are proud to be a sponsor of the event.

The community is invited to the 6th annual Lisa Bauer BBQ to be held on Sunday, May 26, from 4 PM to 9 PM at the Nassau Swim Club in Ridley Park. Tickets, which include food and activities, are $14 for adults and $7 for children and will be available at the door.

Everyone is welcome to bring the family to enjoy featured activities including a moon bounce, a silent auction, a DJ, and visits from special characters. Plus, you can use the pool as a place to splash and swim while supporting a great cause.

  TCF's Pay-It-Forward Fund

TCF's Pay-It-Forward Fund is designed to assist local community members who encounter sudden adversity that leaves them with an unexpected and uncovered health-related financial burden.

Many of your friends and neighbors have already answered the call by hosting fund-raising events or making direct donations for the purpose of making Pay-it-Forward goals a reality.

If you are interested in helping us to fund these types of needs in your schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods, please contact the TCF staff by calling 610–461–6571 or via email at info@taylorcommfdn.org. Or use the button above to donate online with your credit card, debit card, or PayPal account.

If you have encountered a major setback of the type described or know somebody in the TCF Service Area who has, please use our Pay-It-Forward Application for Funding form to apply for assistance.
