Lisa Bauer Memorial BBQ: May 26th, 4–9 PM

The community is invited to attend the 5th annual Lisa Bauer BBQ on Sunday, May 26, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Nassau Swim Club in Ridley Park. This event is organized every year to raise awareness of the danger of heart disease in women.

Everyone is welcome to bring the family to enjoy featured activities including a moon bounce, silent auction, string band, DJ, and visits from special characters. Plus, you can use the pool as a place to splash and swim while supporting a great cause.

Tickets, which include food and activities, are $12 for adults and $6 for children and will be sold at the door. The proceeds will benefit causes that promote women’s wellness and women’s heart health.

  Lobster Dinner a Delicious Success

Lobster Dinner

Linda Hosbach and her family and friends enjoyed fine wine, a delicious meal, and great company as the winners of the TCF Lobster Dinner drawing, which benefitted the Pay-It-Forward Fund.

Linda offered these words of thanks to chef Mike Cruice, wine specialist Tom Kelly, singer/songwriters Perry Artese and Tom DiMeo, and maitre d's Pat O'Brien and Kurt Slenn: "What a great time last night. We all thought it was wonderful. Bev, Dave, and my kids loved it. It was a 5-star experience. Thanks so much!"

Ridley Health Awareness/YMCA Healthy Kids Day an Outstanding Success!

The annual Ridley Health Awareness and YMCA Healthy Kids Day event held at the Ridley High School campus on Saturday, April 13, was certainly a day to be remembered. Beyond the myriad of activities for all ages — including free health screenings, breakfast, character appearances, and a performance by the Ridley Drama Group — the 2013 event had over 70 informational and interactive stations that helped us learn how to eat healthy, stay fit, and take care of our minds and bodies.

Health Awareness Day is the result of a collaboration between the Taylor Community Foundation (TCF), Ridley School District, Crozer Keystone Health System/Taylor Hospital, the Ridley Township Board of Commissioners, and the Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County.

  TCF's Pay-It-Forward Fund

On April 28, 2011, TCF President Kurt Slenn announced the formation of the Pay-It-Forward Fund. The fund is designed to assist local community members who encounter sudden adversity that leaves them with an unexpected and uncovered health-related financial burden.

Our goal is to raise $20,000 to assist those who find themselves in desperate straits when calamity strikes. Many of your friends and neighbors have already answered the call by hosting fund-raising events for the purpose of making this goal a reality.

If you are interested in helping us reach our goal of fully funding this endeavor, please contact the TCF staff by calling 610–461–6571 or via email at info@taylorcommfdn.org. Or use the button above to donate online with your credit card, debit card, or PayPal account.
